(Ti,Al)N coating was deposited on 1Cr11Ni2W2MoV stainless steel by
arc-ion plating and then annealed at 700?℃ in air
for 500 h. The morphology of the coating was studied by using SEM and EDS to analyze its high temperature
oxidation resistance. All coatings annealed in different hours were covered with dense oxidized layer, except some large oxidized particles appeared on the (Ti,Al)N coating which was oxidized more than 200 h. The study indicates that the excellent high temperature oxidation resistance of (Ti,Al)N coating can be attributed to its special composition and structure . (Ti, Al) N is the ceramic coating, the resolving of nitrogen thing happens first while oxidizing. The Al2O3 flins that produce oxidizing membrane can suppress O , Al ,etc. diffusion of element , will suppress N diffusion of element, make N2 oxidize and reflecting the interface office to collect and reduce oxygen partial pressure richly, thus will reduce the speed of oxidizing further, while the large oxidized particles have almost no effect on the oxidation resistance of (Ti,Al)N coating.
