Verse of the Tang Dynasty is the summit in Chinese literature and poetic craft. In the course of his poetic pursuit, Yu Guang-zhong
has strained to ascend, learning from such renowned poets as Li Bai and Du Fu and idolizing them, which embodies his affirmation of the poetic tradition in the Tang Dynasty. Moreover, Yu's art of idolization, as is manifest in the abundant creativeness and modern imagination of several poems on Li Bai, exhibits his adroit employment and transformation of tradition and verifies his creativity. On the basis of the traditional Chinese verse headed by the verse of the Tang Dynasty, Yu Guang-zhong has managed to create brilliant modern poetry through his dozen-of-year arduous perseverance and determination as well as his marvelous intelligence and painstaking efforts. Yu Guang-zhong is the inheritor of Li Bai and Du Fu, and he has created a new realm for Chinese verse. The idolization of Li Bai and Du Fu by Yu Guang-zhong symbolizes the development of tradition as well as the integration between traditional verse and modern verse.
