There are five standands for choosing ancient historiographers in Imperial Edict for Choosing Historiographers Made by Li Zhi,Gao Zong of Tang Dynasty.The first one is that the historiographers behaviers and ante cedents should be clean and stainless.The second stardard for selecting historiographers is that they should have learned knowledge.The third one needs them to ill ustrale their ideas directly.The fourth one is that they can be recommended and advocated by the mass.The fifth one is that they can prevent from letting out secrets.The five standards is the first publict one for ancient selecting historiographers,and also the crystallization of the distinguished historiographers' excellent qualities before Tang Dynasty,which has been one of the bases of historical talents","historical knowledge","historical learning" and "historical virtues".It is not lnly one assential condition of being qualified historiographers,but also a standard of measuring historiographers and historians' self-culture after Tang Dynasty.Even today it still has very important realistic significance for reference.
