The Influence of China's Entry of WTO on the Ideological Sphere and Its Countermeasures (1st)

Article Summary by: TsingHua

Original Author: Academic Exchange
Against the background of economic globalization, China's entry of WTO exerts far reaching influence on its economic base
and ideology; the influence embraces the positive one as well as the negative one. The former can be manifested in the following aspects: China's entry of WTO contributes to emancipation of mind, upgrade of ideas, and enhancement in the awareness of precautions; it promotes the further development in cultural industry, the transformation of management methods and the exchanges with foreign cultures, etc. Nevertheless, some Western countries (especially for those hostile forces) may make use of the chance to pursue hegemony of culture and values. It implies that the guiding ideology of our Party and its ruling position must meet challenges meanwhile traditional moral concepts, socialist morals and cultural industry are also shocked; thus these negative influences exist widely and chronically. To such situations, we should take preventive measures, which include consolidating the guiding position of Marxism, fostering ideological and ethical progress, and devoting major efforts to developing social culture.
