People usually think that, YOU Mao, YANG Wanli, FAN ChengDa and LU You, the four greatest poets in Southern Song Dynasty, did not gain their accomplishments before getting rid of the negative influence of the Jiangxi Poetry School. However, based on some detail clarification on the relation between the four poets and the Jiangxi Poetry School, the author here argues that these four poets all had benefited from the Jiangxi Poetry School' s nurture, they all had profound links with the School. Therefore we should not always bear in mind a fixed way of thinking that old things must be destroyed to build up new things. On the other hand, just because the four great poets carried forward the essence of the Jiangxi Poetry School, they were able to have the achievements. The author also advocates that the Jiangxi Poetry School and its poetic thoughts should be viewed in a dynamic, rather than a static way. That is to say, the Jiangxi Poetry School still exerted a major influence on poet writings in the mid period of Southern Song Dynasty, and the School's style was the dominant one in late Northern Song Dynasty, and even in Southern Song Dynasty.
