Fromm ( Frankfurt 1900- 1980)  German psychoanalyst, later nationalised
American. He studied in the
Heidelberg and Munich Universities,
and in the Berlin
Psychoanalyst high school. He emigrated to the U.S.A. in 1934 because of Hitler. He
was a celebrity because he used psychoanalytic theory to social and cultural
problems. To him specific kind of personalities are linked with socioeconomic
ways, witch supposed a break with the idea that human personality was more
linked with genetics than with culture. Some of his main works are the
following ones: The Scare to Freedom, the human to himself, The forgiven
language, The healthy society, The art of love, Sigmund Freud’s mission, beyond
the illusion chains, To have or to be?
