Why go when there’s a lot more reason to stay?
Traveling is such an exciting hobby. You can explore different places,
see different animals ﴾some of them you haven’t seen all of life, because they are already endangered﴿, meet different people, learn different languages, or simply have a serene relaxation. Many Filipinos really love to travel. Well, there are some who had almost traveled around the world.
We can also enjoy from the comfort of our own country. We do have so many stunning and attractive places here in the Philippines. Many of them are just lying behind those caves, aisle,
mountain and seas, waiting to be explored. The Philippines is a rich tropical archipelago of 7107 islands stretching gracefully over the western Pacific Ocean, that’s why it’s called “Pearl of the orient seas”.
Boracay in Aklan is one of the most seen places here in the Philippines especially during summer. Widely known as one of the finest swimming destinations in the world, Boracay is blessed with unsullied fine talcum powder-sand
beaches. Its tranquil crystal clear waters are perfect for swimming, sailing, fishing and sunbathing. Boracay also boasts of sapphire seas and spectacular sunsets. Countless hidden coves dot the island and tall coconut trees line up along the beaches. Boracay lies at the northwest tip of Panay, in the west Visayas region, off the Sibuyan Sea.
Another captivating place is Palawan. El Nido and Lagen Resort is some of them. The white powdery sand and the crystal blue water surrounding the islands in Coron are also great. The exotic beauty of Palawan remains undefiled. Branded as the country''s last frontier, Palawan is a sanctuary to an amazing variety of exotic flora and fauna that are found nowhere else. With more than a thousand islands and islets, Palawan boasts of white-sand beaches, scenic rock formations, underwater rivers and magnificent caves. Palawan is also home to Tubbataha Reef, the only national marine park that made it to the World Heritage List and whose grandeur is comparable to the Great Barrier Reef of Australia
If Aklan has Boracay, Ilocos has Pagudpud, its northernmost town bordering the South China Sea. The coastal town of Pagudpud is the perfect setting for panoramic movies and photoshoot for travel magazines cover. The town''s main attractions are Saud Beach, known for its fine white sand stretching for hundreds of meters and Maira-Ira Point, which hides a secluded beach called Blue Lagoon. Other breathtaking landscapes in Pagudpud include Bantay Abot-abot, a natural sculpture carved by the wind and sea, the Mabogabog Falls and the Patapat viaduct that treats motorists to a scenic view of green lushes and blue waters of South China Sea
Puerto Galera (which means Galleon Port) is one of the most popular beach resorts in the Philippines. A marine reserve, it is endowed with coves, fine sandy beaches and shallow coral reefs ideal for snorkeling. The place can be reached from the port of Batangas City where a ferry service to Mindoro awaits the tourists. Bancas may be hired to go to Escarceo Point, the best dive spot in Puerto Galera. The area offers positive thrills and guaranteed excitement, with its sudden rushes of strong currents and steep slopes which are a favorite gathering place for large pelagic fish.Diving expeditions are usually organized by certified masters on specific dive spots.
Who can forget the Philippines rice terraces found in Cordillera? Traversing the rugged terrains of Cordillera highlands in a span of one week is an adventure in itself and could be an immense learning experience for someone who has the guts to look down into the depths of mountain cliffs to get a good view of the rice terraces. With tall rice terraces at the backdrop and cool breeze shuttling between mountain peaks, a journey across the Cordillera mountain ranges exposes one to an atmosphere.
Donsol - Whale Shark Capital. Once a sleepy coastal village located at the northwesteip of Sorsogon province, this town now eyes to be a first-class municipality, Donsol was elevated to a third-class municipality in 2006 from a fourth-class status in 2003 and fifth-class in 1998, because of the butanding ﴾ whale sharks ﴿, considered as the world’s largest fish that have found a home in the plankton-rich municipal waters of Donsol
So, why go when there’s a lot more reason to stay. It’s sad to say that these places are much highly appreciated by foreigner travelers than us. If only Filipinos would learn to accept these gifts of nature and be eager in exploring first the wonders of Philippines before they eagerly travel the other countries.
