Leadership
In every
group or
organization, usually
someone takes charge. He maybe the
person who has formal authority, like the
highest ranking manager at the business meeting, or maybe a group member who
simply directs everyone. This person shows the way and pilots the group. He is
called the leader.
Leaders are the selected few and
privileged people who, hand in hand, work for the successful implementation of
programs and activities of any organization. These leaders steer and direct the
group, the failure and success of which largely depends on them. Leaders are
truly the foundations of any organization for its stability and continuing
function.
Becoming
a leader is based on the assumption that leaders are people who are able to
express themselves
fully. They know who they are, recognize their strengths and weaknesses, and how to
fully organize their
strong points and compensate for their weak points.
Becoming a
Leader is not easy. You have to be born one, or you have to work
really hard to become one.. The leader has a clear idea of what he wants to do
professionally and personally, and the strength to persist in the face of set
backs, even failures. The leader loves what he does and loves doing it.
Leadership
is the process of influencing the creativities of the group towards the
attainment of the group objectives. To be effective, a leader must have sufficient influence to get others
to do what he wants them to do.
Leading is similar to a rudder which
directs or reinforces a person to do a work or task. Leaders are the
strong forces which tend to encourage the followers to work and
cooperate, thus assisting them to become responsible, hardworking individuals
with great sense of values. There is no such organization if there are no
officers or members involved in the sense that they are usually made charge in
controlling, administering, managing, or even planning all actions and
understanding, for greater efficiency and success. The success and failure of
whatever organization primarily depends on the abilities and capacities of a
leader with oneness of its members.
In these modern times, there is indeed a need
for a leader who is ever committed to serve for the common good and welfare of
its constituents. A leader who has the courage and enthusiasm can make the
difference in the success of any organization.
