Illiteracy a curse,that bring darkness can only be removed by illuminating the candle of education.According to human needs,education can be divide into three parts: Social, Spirtual and Technical education.
The backwardness of a country depends mainly on the percentage of illiteracy.This percentage is high among men ,but alarmingly low in the case of women.So for the progress of a country education for women is much essential as for men. Both sexes are like the wheels if a cart of society.The cart cannot run properly if one of the wheels is defective.There was a time when it was said that education for women is not essential and they were debarred from education .Now,time has changed it is preety difficult to procure a good match for a girls who does not know how to read and write.The importance of educating women is now admitted on all hands.
Modern nations like U.S.A are leading just because their women is educated and participating and competing with men in every sphere of life.
Women play various role in society,so there are many advantages of education for women. Firstly an educated women is conversant with her duties as a citizen.
She understand her responsibilities towards herself, her family and her nation.Women cannot become good citizen if they are uneducated.More over, they pass on their education to their children.It has been rightly said:"If you educate a man ,you educate an individual: but if you educate a women you educate a family."
Mother has great influence on her child.The upbringing of a child,the inculcation of good ideas and habits are done more by the mothers than the fathers or the teachers.An educated mother can serve her country in the sense that she poduces good citizens with tolerant views and vast outlooks.Uneducated mothers are superstitous .They do not have elementary medical knowledge.The alarming figure of infant mortality is mostly due to ignorance of mothers.Educated mother will give the nation healthy,enlightened and decently brought up child.
Lastely ,an uneducated women cannot be a good wife.She will not be able to understand her husband.On the other hand,an educated wife will be able to understand her husband and can also help her family in rainy days by doing job.In short she can easily run the administration of the home properly.
In a nutshell it can be said that education for women is much essential and to educate them we should try to open more schools and universities and should encourage the fair sex to get education.
