Personality
Personality is
the most distinctive feature of any individual and
one of the major classifications
in
applying for a job.
Personality shows itself even when there are no people
around to impress.
Appearances are often deceiving. This is
often true since a
person’s appearance may represent what
he wishes. In addition, most personality characteristics are specific, not
generalized.
One’s
personality is considered effective when a person’s behavior
manifests successful adjustments to a
given area of his
environment.
Heredity and
environment interact to form personality. At the
moment of birth, infants already differ
because of variables that either are inherited or result from conditions of
pregnancy and birth. Among the personality characteristics that are known to be
at least partly determined by heredity are intelligence and temperament.
The key to a
good personality is the ability to adjust equally well to
various types of life situations .The person who has learned to
conduct himself positively in all the important areas of his life has developed
an effective personality.
One’s

Peale (1986) points out that a
mature personality is that
which takes into account the elements
of physicality, morality, and spirituality is balanced combinations. He further
explains that to have it takes time. It implies patience and endurance. One has to work hard to gain it. Physical or
outward appearance, however great or fantastic, does not imply mature
personality. Mature personality development requires the proper blending of the
physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual aspects of life.
Mature mind is
a foundation for a mature personality, and that a
mature personality is a winning
personality.
