My impression about United States of America
I have read a lot about this country.
And of course, did not meet that much number of people that I can make an opinion about country and culture there. First when I was a school student Prof Ved Prakash from Harvard University, if I remember his name correctly spoke in one of our school functions. That time USA was held in very high esteem whereas Government in 1970s` were not comfortable with American Governments, but Indian by and large were always fascinated and had a deep sense of obligation towards Americans. With time, Governments remained changing, USSR lost its Federal look, and Indian Government also opened up. It did seem People were making their way to USA for fulfillment of all their dreams. Now the Govt. also though was desperate for an helping hand, but never forth coming. Probably political compulsions were at play for appeasement of Leftist forces led by Chinese Communist parties. May be American Governments were also keeping a safe distance to colonize Pakistan for their international, diplomatic reasons. It seems to be really a intricate subject to understand thoroughly.
However, I happened to meet many Indians settled there, cursing India for its backwardness. But I hardly found them having progressed dramatically except for packet which they may be making for their livelihood. Most common feature I noticed- was habit of cursing Indian for dishonesty, whereas they were found to be making an effort for concessional set of Custom duties or no duties on goods brought by them. On roads- arrogance, breaking traffic rules and at the same time abusing Indian drivers for their higheadedness and law breaking habits.
I found them less pragmatic about accepting human behavior as it is. They always reflected as very traditional, primitive, moody and not sensitive. Hard pressed at USA for their spending urges, probably behave same way in India. Though costs in India are many times less for most of the goods and services, if dollar’s exchange value is considered. Middle class Indian lives gracefully and dares spending for Luxuries, communications and food. Whereas they were found to be stingy for even buying water balls (eatable-Golgappas) .
What is governing them –greenery, clean roads, safety norms, no dust, technological upgraded goods and services, easy loans for making properties? May be helpful Government, Civil administration. May be much more. But ------to continue
