Managing Attitudes with Influences
The
Influence is the
main factor in the human life to get the success we deserve.
In the other hand
influence has a great impact in every person
every day since we wake up until we
comeback to sleep at night. The influence is a determining factor in some
people whom they look for to reach the
success, but in many cases the people can nevertheless be very well influenced by others, the attitudes that take on some
matter is opposite to the awaited reactions. The influence and
attitude must go of hand to be
one perfect combination. when there are good attitudes and bad influences the results are
bad and vice turns. Every day the people
are expose to peer pressure, social, and other influences that
could affect one’s knowledge capacity.
On the other hand the knowledge is very important to the
human being, but badly handled in some cases, due to the ego, pride and other
factors. . This introductory paragraph could show the points that will be
discuss in this essay. When influence is employed correctly, it efficiently
moves people in positive directions. Those who wish to create and sustain
positive change in others need to understand how the influence process works.
Fortunately, a vast body of scientific evidence now exists on how, when, and
why people say ''yes.''
Peers become a major influence in a person’s life during the adolescence (
Berndt, 1999; Brown, 1990; Douvan and Adelson, 1966). Children and teenagers
feel social pressure to conform to the group of peers with whom they socialize.
This peer pressure can influence how children dress, what kind of music they
listen to and what types of behavior they engage in, including risky behaviors such
as using drugs, cigarettes, alcohol and engaging in sex. The intensity of peer
pressure differs from situation to situation.
Peer groups are usually cliques of friends who are about the same age. Peer
pressure can begin in early childhood with children trying to get other children
to play the games they want. Generally increases through childhood and reaches
its intensity in the preteen and teen years. How
children and teens learn to get along with others of their own age group and
eventually learn how to become independent?. Virtually all adolescents in
middle and high school deal with peer pressure, often on a daily basis depending on the group trying to apply the influence, peer pressure can be
negative or positive.
There are so many others
tactics or types of influence that affect not only the youngpeople, but also the
adult people such as; Pressure,
assertiveness, legitimating, coalition, inspirational appeal and personal appeals are some of the tactics used
for influence other’s in different ways. Behavior includes demands, threats or
intimidation to convince others, timelines for project
completion or expressing anger toward individuals who do not meetexpectations, and makes
an emotional request or proposal that arouses enthusiasm by appealing to other’s
values and ideals. In the other hand peer pressure means also, a person might be forced into
doing something (such as going to an opera, or doing illegal drugs), these is
regarding to a what kind of influence they are getting from their family or
their partner.
A Social influence can also be described by the word power, which means to
possess the ability to embrace a person or group of people to one''s own will.
Usually people who possess beauty, significant sums of money, good jobs and so
on will possess social influence on others ordinary people. So even if the
person does not possess any real or political power but possesses the things
listed above (good looks, money, etc.), he could persuade other people into
doing something. However, good looks, money, etc. is not solely why
attractive peopleble to exert more influence than average looking people;
for confidence is the byproduct of good looks and etcetera. Therefore, the
individual''s self-esteem and perceived
Persona is the critical factor in determining the amount of influence one
exerts. This principle of Social Proof
can be used to stimulate a person''s compliance with a request by informing him
or her that many other individuals, perhaps some that are role models, are or
have observed this behavior. This tool of influence provides a shortcut for
determining how to behave.
In conclusion the influence, attitude and the knowledge must
be always workingtogether by equal parts so, that if one of them takes
advantage on the others the results are not going to be those that were expected, or near in our
immediately future is where we’ll see the results.
We must see, how we reacted and the attitude we took at
every moment of thedaily living for being able to influence positively. Ex. If
we took an attitude from anger inanytime by some situation, the most of the people said: that they had reacted of equal way (what type of influence we obtained with that... NONE), if
nevertheless if we reactpositively to the same situation, we will see that the
influence impact gone to be to almost all those that are beside you very different and like surprise, because you
toke positive and not awaited attitude..
In conclusion we can deduce that if we change our form of think, it began to change our attitude.
