Adolescence is a difficult time that is both happy and unhappy for young people.
Youth is a time when we learn a lot. We live under stress, either at school or at home. Parents put pressure on us to learn more having big expectations and requirements. It may lead to depression or revolt. It is hard for teenagers to come with an agreement with their parents. We also learn how to live. Before we become mature people we make many mistakes and do many stupid things. It is common that teenagers have some serious problems with their life that they find hard to deal with. In Poland, 700 teenagers commit suicide every year.
There are many arguments that adolescence is not such a bad time in our lives. The thing that makes the youth so special is that during this time happen so many things that are unforgettable and unique. The changes are not easy but over time they seem trivial and bring us a smile. Also, if you are a teenager you strike up friendship with people for many years. It is time when you learn about the world with open mind, with all of the dreams in reach of our hands ready to come true.
It is difficult to decide whether the time of adolescence is happy or unhappy because still being a teenager makes it impossible for me to objectively decide upon that. I think that it is time of changes when both happiness and sadness mix together.
