This wonderful life ( for a fleeting second, yes)

Our life is an infinitesimal energy bubble. Its span is just a fleeting second. IN the cosmic time scale its value is tending towards zero.
If we consider the time since Big Bang till now as  a day all the life history must have occurred in the last half an hour. And the entire human history just a second.
Our feeling that this 80-100 years is along period is just an illusion. Even in comparison to the earth’s life (it has been revolving around the sun for almost three billion years) it is just a second or much less. .
We are lucky that we got birth here and we are alive today. Now man is in an advanced civilization enjoying every fruit of man’s past inventions and discoveries and leading a very comfortable life. Our average life spans is nearing one hundred years. How much was it say 600 years back? Not more than 20. A vast majority of all who were born then must have had died before reaching the age of 10. The survivors were haunted by famines, horrendous  contagious diseases which obliterated entire human societies. There was no cure for any of the deadly diseases which afflict man now. People had to simply die.
There was no comfort as we enjoy now. He had to work hard tilling  the land manually and eke out a precarious existence. Agriculture was many times more difficult. There  was hardly any industry. No televisions, no radio, no printing, no transport systems (except of course horse donkeys and mules) and no electricity, no air conditioning or heating devices and life was hard indeed. If you go back another 1000 years it was a  dark life indeed. The able bodied had to die fighting for the king or emperor ( remember wars were very common) and many an young lady died in child bearing. There was no antibiotic and all the disease germs and viruses had a hectic, unbridled day.
There is another side to this too. Thin about life after say 1000 years from now. It is quite possible that man will conquer ageing and  death. He will decide his time of death. His life will be much more comfortable and meaningful. But then everything will have to die and nothing will ultimately prevail for eons. Then may be matter will emerge and another sort of life appear. That too will die up once.
Isn’t it  wonderful that we got this great opportunity to pass this way and know these ineffable things and ponder on the eternal drama going on here? Thank you energy for bringing me here and the wondrous little life with its own joys and tears.
