Dhirubai Ambani was born as the son of a primary school teacher in Gujarath an western
state of India The family managed to pull on with the meager income of an school teacher He could not educate his children properly. They were hungry many a day.
The young Dhrubhai wanted to put an end to the poverty of his home. He vowed to make better conditions for himself and others. He started thinking of ways to realize his dream
Soon he went to Yemen in search of a job. He worked there as a petrol pump attendant for years. He started saving every penny he could after sending something for his emaciated parents and other family members. When he made some money he returned to India and became a salesman in selling garments. He walked through the streets of Mumbai like any ordinary salesman.
But his thoughts were that of a king as he walked through the streets of Bombay. . He was determined to set up one of the biggest industries of India
Dhirubai dreamt of starting an industry all by himself. With his regular savings and honest ways he had already earned the goodwill of the bankers. They were willing to lend him any money he wanted. He started the Reliance Industries from scratches.
But the bank loans were insufficient to realize his dreams. He was dreaming big. With his indomitable will he influenced the central government and to pass legislation to import chemicals without much taxes for his industrial use.
Further he went public and made an appeal to the public to invest money in his enterprise. He had already a name for honesty, hard work and trust worthiness Whoever who knew him or heard about him came forward to invest. Money stated to pour in millions. The Reliance became one of the biggest companies in the world. And, every shared holder was rewired ten fold or hundred fold. . .
. Before he died, the Reliance had become the biggest company in India and perhaps, one of the biggest in the whole world.
