No to
plastics We are born and we live on this earth. We have to pass it on to our descendents without at least as
we took possession it. But what is happening? We are dumping wastes of all sorts and the earth’s heart is bleeding. The organic wastes will decompose and merge with the earth ( not that we should litter it) but not so with the
plastic items. They will for ever as blots and on its beautiful surface.
These days plastic items bottles, bags, sheets are littered everywhere. There have been bans for the use of plastic items in a number of third world countries but to no avail. As always there are ways to bypass the laws and get going. After the passing of the
legislation too the plastics are back unabated. .Perhaps the legislation has to enacted in our minds. We have to decide not to use them.
The amount of plastic that is generated and used is of staggering proportions. It will pollute our alleys, roads, soil and everywhere. They cannot be destroyed and they will choke our drains and rivers. They will remain as a token for man’s insensitiveness to preserve what has been passed on to us unspoiled.
People all over the world are realizing its harmful effects and there is a sincere effort to get rid of the menace. Why not use cloth, paper or jute bags instead? We have to go in for eco-friendly products. If laws do not change the situation each one of us have to
