Is it not time to revolt against “slavish state” of women?
When I was abroad I had observed that a male
could marry three or four women if he had the money and keep them in a house each. He would visit the one of that day’s choice and stay overnight. When she was busy with childbearing and tending to them he could go to another one he had a fancy an instantaneous fancy. Later she would be pregnant and he could look elsewhere.
But the funniest part was that he would be s
sexual act with his own daughter again unaware.
I had also witnessed moneyed nobles forcing the parents of teenage daughters to offer them so that their desires of the flesh could be satiated. There were reports of whipping of these girls if hey did not succumb themselves willfully.
Why are the women not given opportunity o educate themselves? Why re they not allowed to work outside, side by side with men, and earn and lead a respectful life deciding their own destiny? Why are they shut within the four walls getting ‘occasional servings of sex’ from their so- called husbands who almost bought them at a price? Why are they forced to bring up as many children as is dictated by their men? Is it not a crime against h7umnaity to ill-treat women or see them merely as outlets to ease one’s sexual cravings?
If the husband no more wanted one of them it was ( and still is ) easy to separate the marriage by uttering a few words solemnly and informing the concerned authorities. She would be given a subsistence but her life would have been already finished for all practical purposes.
Why are they fully covered up fully all the time even in the hottest seasons? If this is not slavery what is ?
Similar treatment were meted out to women only during the times of slavery in the United States. The black girls were fully owned by her white master and she had to succumb herself to his sexual advances whenever and whoever he wanted the same and she had to do the work as allotted by him. But still, she did not have to fully cover herself in black clothes and the temperature was much milder. She did not undergo the cycle of sex, pregnancy, childbirth, sex pregnancy………as the present ones are subjected to in some regions.
Where is the question of women’s dignity?
Does she have any freedom as a human being?
Can she educate herself and lead a life of her decisions?
Can she lead a life of self respect and decide on her own fertility?
Why is she always under the male dominion -either the father, brother or husband or son?
Is it not a crime to subject women to a life slavery in any religion or society?
Why should not we arise and fight for this noble cause?
