There was nothing unseal in this little Madras boy when he was young. Nor when his
parents taught him the
game of
chess. Like all other boys, he too was after the vogue of his times-films, and crazy things school kids do.
But soon he was concentrating on the game. Chess was beginning to take more of his time. He was catching up the nuances of the game fast, his parents noted. And they encouraged him all the more.
Anand was with this parents abroad where they were working. He would watch every competition in the TV. He learned form them and was defeating soon anyone who played with him.
Not long aftere he had won the World Junior Title.
Later he became the first Indian Chess Grand Master.
Further moving up was tough.
Today he is known throughout the world. He is
number one in the world chess foundation ranking.
