Sudha Chandra used to dance very well an was a film star in the southern states of India.
She lost a leg of hers in
an accident.
Ordinary people would have wound up everything and rested at home with whatever resources they had In fact Sudha had made quite a bit of money.
But she decided to dance like before.
“
Impossible,” the doctors said.
“Impossibility is not a word in my dictionary,” she told them. After a long search she located very good orthopedic surgeon who arranged an artificial leg for her.
“Do not try to balance on these artificial legs without crutches,” he told her.
But she tried to balance on them the very next day.
As could be expected she fell down. The cushions around her protected her from further damage. She tried again. Fell down again. She did thousands of attempts.
I about an year’s time she could balance on them and even put a leg forward.
Soon she learnt to walk and slowly trot. Bt dancing required so complicated steps and precise movement which was rather impossible still.
Sudha continued practicing undaunted and the rest is history.
She danced like before.
“Mayuri,” is a film on her life and she danced in it much like before when she had her natural legs.
Nothing is impossible to anyone. The young Indian film girl had proven it to one and all.
Hats off to her for
inspiring us.
