Can you run and
finish 100 meters run in 10.91
seconds? You are able bodied and in good health. You and I may
not be able to do it.
Suppose we do not have both the legs? It will be impossible. We would be struggling to even walk with crutches and then how will we run and that too in the world
record speeds?
Well, the world record for 100metere is 9.74 seconds. Oscar Pistorius could
finish it in 10.91 seconds. Not a big feat, right?
Yes, but then Oscar Pistorius is a double amputee. Without both the legs he managed to come very near to the world record!
He ran with his light weight J shaped carbon prosthetic legs.
His achievement is a wonder and we should all learn a lesson or twofrom him in overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
He is competing in the summer Olympics, (Paralympics to be precise)
