Freedom and no
Freedom The pursuit of capitalist ideas has undermined the Marxist purity in some of the
socialistic
states. The dictatorship of the proletariat holds sway over the people and market reform is only a convenient expediency. There is no freedom as such.
The European
socialistic empire has died and is buried, but its consequences are still felt. All those nations have become poor and backward. Communism seems to have robed man of his
ability to surge ahead to make life more comfortable and advanced.
How could it be otherwise? The communist countries were large prisons where the masses lived for the state and its rulers. In the democracies, the people elect a party of their choice to govern them and to deliver the goods promised. They deserve the right to recall it. Obviously, the rulers become answerable to them and their basic aspirations to well-being. Free market economies prevail. The citizens are exposed to an optimism about an individual’s right and ability to grow, develop and change. There is a sea of difference between the two.
