With the demise of the Soviet Empire, USA is the only superpower remaining now. USSR has been fragmented. It is
now struggling to get to its feet. But will USA remain the only super power ever?
Not probably. There are other giants on the horizon. China and India are examples. Of course Japan and Germany are economic superpowers. But they clack the clout, the military muscle. Further they are small countries which cannot stand up to the awesome reach of the United States. UK and France are already on the decline and can be safely discounted from the race.
But China, the communist giant is different. It has more than one sixth of the world population. The United States has less than about one fifth of the population of China. And that too an graying population. A majority are on state pensions and non productive.
But China’s population is young and vibrant. So is India’s.
Further, riding on the free market principles, the Chinese are marching forward in leaps and bounds. They are already an economic giant and a military superpower. Chins has the biggest army in the world. It is an accepted nuclear power. Nobody knows the number of nuclear war heads in its arsenal. It is also a space power.
Yes, there is a lot of poverty in China still. There are many far away provinces where millions live below the poverty line. But the scenario is fast changing. The Chinese, even women, are getting empowered and educated.
In the not so distant future China’s GDP will outstrip that of the United States. Militarily they will be at par before soon.
The red star is rising. The red sickle is taking a big swathe across the world.
It is not very far when the communist country will be the real super power. Well, India will be close behind.
