In some parts of Ghana and other neighboring African countries, a family may be punished for an offense by having to turn
over a virgin female to serve as a sex slave within the offended family. In this system of slavery of ritual servitude, young virgin girls are given as slaves in traditional shrines and are used sexually by the priests. They also provide free labor. There are many such young female slaves in the areas mentioned. Later they will ‘serve’ as sex and labor slaves for the members of the family where she is sold to.
How depressing a thing! How can such inhumanities be sanctioned by other women? As humans we should not hesitate to take action against such injustices. I am a man and I am guilty of inaction too. This is just horrible. Why should a female
suffer like this for an offense she did not commit? What kind of retribution is this?
