Anti-Racism Review Conference- Geneva- 2009
"The Hindu", a 'national' newspaper in India since 1878, carried an article
by Mr.Navaneethan Pillay, the U.N.High commissioner for human rights in from U.N. Information Centre, New Delhi on the just concluded conference to review the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA-2001). If conferences and declarations could wipe out racism from the face of earth, racism, nay, races even should have disappeared from the face of earth long ago. The fact is just the contrary. Racist discrimination, injustice, prejudices, conflicts, fratricidal bloodbaths and consequent political turmoils continue to grow and plague the international society. Mr.Pillay himself is unable to get rid of his caste surname, which he needs to preserve his high caste identity, just like the Bengali 'communists' can never get rid of thier high caste Brahmin based surnames like Mukherjee, Banerjee, Chatterjee, Ganguly, Chakraborthy, Battacharjea etc., all 'elite' Brahmin castes. When these fellows are not even democrats, they talk much of 'a higher form of society. Karl Marx's suffering would have been much lesser had he been a non-jew by birth. The anti-semitists of Europe usurped his ideology for their political careers, though they could never give up their anti-semitism to this day. Same is the case with the Indian 'communists'. They could never give up their caste moorings.
The fact that Barrack Obama has been elected for the high office of the President of U.S.A. does not show that racism is wiped out from U.S.A. In fact racism is taking more subtle and nastier forms and every where in the U.S. society the non-whites are discriminated in thousand and one ways. Neither can we say that religious fundamentalism of any kind can fight racism. Racism is a problem for centuries and man becomes a beast when the thought of racism occupies his mind. In fact it is a crowd psychology. No one wants to be left out of some crowd. They fear to be alone. In this case mankind is worse than sheep.
So many great thinkers and fighter fought against racism to no avail. We need a scientific fool-proof ideology to abolish racism and races from the face of earth.
