Ashish Dimri writes: For Global Teacher Called INDIA.
Indian is a country of scholars. Those who condemn it as underdeveloped nation must realise that its soldiers and scholars have never let it down.
Whether you talk of computer or yoga or metaphysics or news you will probably find an Indian behind it.
Even shvoong.com was technically supported by group of young Indian computer experts.
Ironically, like all countries politicians have always played with sentiments of masses. Nowadays, the entire Indian press is reporting about new wave of agitation.
For the first time, doctors across the country have protested against so called reservation policy started by the government. As a result, students will face shortage of seats in academic courses.
These seats will be reserved for members of other back ward castes. Many students belonging to these castes have also shown solidarity with the other students.
Students fear that with globalization, global institutions will not accept them if such conditions prevail.
This great country saw bad impact of Mandal agitation against reservation, which burnt hopes of many students to ashes.
Now the same saga is being reported.
Students fear that policy makers have nothing to fear because their sons and daughters will be cooling their heels in some alien country.
Why, most of the parents and students have accepted that transparency and public service is a rare phenomenon.
It really hurts when many scholars are making India proud and most of them do so without any aid of the government.
Such retrogressive step will ruin destiny of this global teacher.
Hope good sense prevails on our policy maker and may this nation regain its lost status as global teacher
