Our Duty Towards
Parents
That which was
given to you without your choice, must be due to Divine Grace! His Wll--your parents!
The relationship cannot be weighed in the scale of payment and repayment. It is impossible to repay the debt we owe to our parents. The
mother takes care of your tiny self for nine months before God comissions it on this planet. Mother's work is
equal to that of God! May be even more! God arrives for the second shift, after mother completes her duty in the first shift! The mighty incarnations of all religions, the great saints have all come into this world for their divine activities, first being given protection by the mother in her womb! Touch the feet of your parents every morning, reverentially. By doing so, you are touching their heart
Service to parents is more than a debt of gratitude. In their old age, tend and take care of them like children. Ensure that the elders are adequately looked after. If you don't do that their life would be empty and meaningless. Their heart-felt blessings will work miracles for you.
You have, perhaps, never heard a
discussion on the topic, "Men--their role in the society. The discussion is always about
women. Men have, perhaps, no role! Can men do some of the jobs normally done by women? Yes, even
today, the best cooks are men!
The talk of giving equal rights to women is unending! All the Acts of Parliament all over the world, will not bring equality for women. The change has to be achieved within--both men and women! How can you give equal rigthts to women? God has created her, given her the status of more equal. Nobody can take that away.
What is prescribed in various sacred texts and the actual practice in the society today are contradictory. A female child is victimized at every step of life from the moment of birth, though it is she who sacrifices at those steps. Women should be the legal as well as spiritual equals of men.
What is the use of spiritual talks to an individual who cannot see divinity in women!
