The mysterious death
In december 11,
1964 Sam Cooke died in a mystery way- no one knows.
Thought the details of the case he was killed by the manager of the Hancienda
Motel in Los Angeles-Berta Franklin.
Cooke stayed in in Hancienda Motel on the night he was murdered.
Franklin said that Cooke had broken into the managers
office with anger,he was wearing only shoes and his coat.He
wanted to know where was the
woman he came with.She replayed that the woman wasn’t in the office,he didn’t believe her.He caught her and said again that he want her to tell him wher is the woman.
According to Franklin she tried to get out of his grip, they both fell to the floor and she got up and
ran to take her gun. She shot him...
She caimbed that she she did it because she wanted to protect herself.She said that just before Cooke died he said: Lady,you shot me
.
Before Cooke had broken into the managers office Franklin had been on the phone whith Evelyn Carr.
Carr said that she heard everything that happened and she
called police.
Elisa Boyer,the woman,called the police from a phone near the motel, shortly before Carr did.She told that man kidnapped her and she eascapted.
Boyer said that she met Cooke in nightclub and after they left the club she told to him again ang again that he take her home.But Cooke forced her to take her the Haciende Motel.
She was certain he was going to rape her.After he went to the bathroom for a moment, she took her clothes and ran from the room.
She said that she took by mistake Cookes clothes, because she was in pressure and she wanted escape. She said that she ran first to the managers office and knocked on the door for help, there was no answer and she didn’t wait, fearing Cooke would be comig after her.
She left the motel and went to the phone near the motel, which she called police.
The version of Boyer wasn’t the same to the details that reported by other witnesses.
Many people say that Boyer went with Cooke to the motel and she ran with Cookes clothing in order to rob him.
Till today no one know the real story.
