To become eligible for a real estate Salesperson License,
you must be

A citizen of
the United States or a lawfully admitted alien.

Eighteen (18) years of age or older and

A legal resident of Texas
Education Requirement for obtaining License:
You have to furnish evidence of completing following
education before applying for a real estate Salesperson License.
Principles
of Real Estate (core real estate course) of 60 classroom hours Law
of Agency course (core real estate) of 30 classroom hours Law
of Contracts (core real estate course) of 30 classroom hoursAn
Additional course of core real estate of 30 classroom hours Four
semester (60 classroom hours) in core courses or in related courses
acceptable to the Commission.
Evaluation of
Education Documents:
You will have to present the evidence of successful
completion via credit transcript or certificate before filling an
application for the Inactive Salesperson License form.
Note: Do not submit your original transcripts
or course completion certificates.
You can send photocopies of all certificated and request for
Evaluation of Education Documents. You have to send $20.00 as fee for the evolution of educational documents. This
fee is for one year.
When completed your all the education requirements, you will
receive an evaluation letter from the Commission, acknowledging you of satisfaction
of all your education. You can get your Educational documents evaluated within 10-business
day from the date of submission of documents.
Every application is subject for investigation of the
applicant''s background. Inadequate or wrong information could cause disapproval
of your application even though other requirements for a license are fully met.
But investigation will not be conducted until the applicant has passed the examination.
Filing of
Your Application:
When you get the notification that your
education is satisfactory, you can file and pay for the Application for
Inactive Salesperson License. You could also file you application online and
could reduce your time and waiting period considerably. Filling of Online
application could save you weeks of waiting period, due to the delays of Postal
delay and some other factors such as data entry time and processing of checks.
Incomplete applications will be instantly rejected therefore you should fill
your application carefully.
Note: You
have to submit your Documents and Applications on only plain paper and not in
any case on "Thermal" Type Paper.
Application fee:
You have to submit following fees at the
time of filling of your application. If you are submitting your application by
mail or in person, please ensure that appropriate fees is paid with the
application. Application received without the appropriate fees will be rejected
instantly and your check will be returned to you. The following fees have to be
submitted in one Check or Money Order payable to the Texas Real Estate Commission.

Examination Information:
Real Estate License Examinations are managed by PSI, which is a testing
service company. You will
receive a notification after your application has been accepted. You may obtain
a copy of the Candidate Information Brochure (CIB).
CIB will provide instructions and study
material for Licensing Examination. You can download a copy of the CIB from the
PSI web site at www.psiexams.com. You
have to pass the examination within six months from the date of submitting of
you application
Student Loan Repayment History Checking:
State law prohibits the
renewal of a license if you have defaulted on Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TGSLC) in past and has not yet entered into a repayment
agreement with TGSLC. For further
information you can contact TGSLC before filling the application. An
application for renewal of License may be rejected if TGSLC has received
information about applicants past defaulting on a student loan. The Texas
