            Attitude is a state of mind, with respect to something. It
could be positive or negative. The positive attitude is helpful for our success, but many people are not aware of it. Even if our attitude is not positive, it can be developed. In introduction, the author summarizes ten basic, practical & powerful steps, for self- development & personal growth, which he describes in the subsequent Chapters. In Chapter 1, the author advises us to adjust our attitude, by handling the stress & identifying the negative thoughts. Chapter 2 states that we all have a choice for the type of our attitude. We cannot control all circumstances. It is for us to feel happy. The attitude should be created in our inside, & this is required for getting happiness. We can programme our mind, for proper reactions to the situations. We can choose to get hurt, or not to get hurt. As per Chapter 3 we must convert the turning points, into learning points. The author describes 3 types of bad attitudes, viz. the past unpleasant situations, the pressure of the present having stress & the unknown future with potential problems. Its root causes are stress, fear, anger & inability to handle change(s). Chapter 4 advises us to reframe our own attitude, rather than expect others to adjust with us. We should remember that, challenges faced are not permanent. Gratitude & forgiveness are the antidotes, to negative attitude. As per Chapter 5, one must live a purposeful life with vision. It is necessary to create proper plans, both for work life & personal life.
                Chapter 6 gives a warning, about the attitude hazards ahead. We must be always prepared, & never give up. We should have firm faith in our success. Chapter 7 discusses nine tools in the attitude kit. Chapter 8 describes building supportive relationships. We should have our own team with the right attitude. It is desirable to build networking teams, on the basis of mutually beneficial relationships. Chapter 9 tells us to consider the changes as opportunities, rather than resist the changes. The process of change being a part of life, the author describes ten strategies. Chapter10 states that we should make a difference in the life of someone else, by sharing our wisdom & experience. Our attitude should be one of service, & reaching out to others. The title of the book itself speaks volumes. The book influences us to improve the various tenets of life, by using the ten steps for achieving many things in our life. Generally all the Chapters start with a brief introduction, & provide towards the end, summary in the form of an Attitude Tune box. Summing up, the author has made an inspiring contribution. The book is pleasing to read, has lot of examples, & will make positive difference in our outlook. It is considered very useful, for all of us for enjoying a more fulfilling & rewarding life.
