Our world had been morally raped, socially crippled and
intellectually traumatized by every pharaoh that had
held the reins of
power. Moral decadence and educational mediocrity and
many more are now the order of the day. Western civilization had taken
the culture and tradition of our people. My world(Nigeria)has been graded
the most corrupt nation in the entire human race. Our experts are
being exported and exploited in the name of VISA LOTTERY – a modern
day slavery. O! Where do I start? For hundred and nineteen criminal
understanding known as (419) is no longer a news. Standard-six of the
old is far better than the first-degree of today. Most of our law-
makers are mere certificated illiterates-what a pure mass production
of empty heads!
Friends, if I may ask, what are the causes of these
problems?
Generally, at least two third of human miseries spring from human
stupidity and human malice-the great motivator and justifier of
idealism, dogmatism and proselytizing zeal on behalf of
political or
religious idols. We blindly adopt religion, political party, literary
dogma; we become automation-we cease to grow. Worst of it all, modern
methods of learning has entirely strangled the holy curiosity of
enquiries of the old. Nothing in this world is more dangerous than
sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity. The fool’s brain
digests philosophy into folly, science into superstition, and art into
pedantry, hence university education. How then can these odious
problems be solved?
Pragmatically, the above problems are not only from our
leaders but also from the family. World families have always shown
remarkable flexible adjustment to natural, economic and social
challenges. Their strength resembles the elasticity of a spider web,
the regenerating power of perennial greases, and the co-operation of
ant colony. All these qualities are not from a mere monument but from
living organisms. This resilience is not measured by wealth, muscle or
efficiency but creativity, unity and hope. Cultivating this family
strength is critical for national development, for family is the
nucleus of civilization.
In conclusion,let us put our hearts in
order, live a life that is morally clean and socially attractive, so
as to be a role model, a genius and a star.
