My life, my room.
Of all of the rooms in our house, I like my bedroom very much. I may call its my life because I have spent most of my time and I myself like to call it as the temple of knowledge, the
place which helped me to build up and plan my future strategies; the place I write and read, paint and exercise. one may wonder why I am calling ot as the “temple of knowledge”, it says reading makeths an exact man and writing makeths a perfect man! So following that tradition my enthusiasm for reading drove me to collect a bulk of
newspaper articles and a large
collection of
books since my early childhood.still my cousins use to it “ the lab and the library.”for me my room is a great lonely place and it’s the most silence place in our house.
Well if I describe my room, it’s a rectangular shaped huge room with plenty of cupboards and equipment.my
bed is the focal point from the left side of the room, so that I can have a whole view of the room from the bed.the door is situated on the right side of the bed. In the corner next to the door you will see four standing giants who are taller around one an half metres, which are my newspaper articles collection and which is 10 years old.next to them you get a small three sectioned
cupboard in which I keep the electronic circuits that I made and my pretty experimental setups which I’m still continuing to use. My computer desk with the system and the printer is placed on my maintable among my maintable and the three sectioned which I called “the tool cub”.my main table is always furnished with my quick guides and stationary along with my sketyches of skyscrapers and paintings.then you get a four sectioned cupboard which displays the trophies that I won as a junior artist during my time at school, in its first section and of couse the other bottom sections are crammed with magazines and periodicals such as time, national geographic, pariganaka, newsweek and other newspaper supplements.on the top of the cupboard you will figure out a warship I made when I was fourteen years by connecting all my Lego technique systems. besides that, there is a tall closet which I used to put my clothes.just behind my bed to the left side you get the tallest of all, the cupboard which I filled with my collection of books and its two glass seethrough doors are displaying two of my portraits which were drawn by two artists.one when I was 17 years and the other which was drawn recently.next to it you get the dressing table with a big mirror that helped me to be ready for cool and hot parties, college and other events. Also it helped me to train for presentations and speeches to get rid of my childhood stage-fright.next corner you get a rack and a orbitrax exercise machine.there are three windows at two opposite ends so that it light my room and wake me up with the blessings of the morning sun and guard me with the bluish rays of moon in dark.three of the windows give me a view of our front garden and the gate while the other three view the backside scenario of our land.at all the other clear spaces of the walls of my room are covered with posters of movie stars, singers, remarkableqoutations an posters on human body systems.
On may wonder why am I fond of collecting items such as newspapers and books but I would like to say that I believe in keeping backups on everything I feel that is important because you might not know when opportunities come up in your life at surprising moments. I have experienced such moments which I even became a kind of a private detective just because of internet and my computer.sometimes during my leisure time I spend my moments by recalling the precious exciting moments of my life by going through my past diaries , picture and collections of stamps and coins which are still continuing as my hobbies.so my room has become a part of my life and I feel its mywhole wealth.eventhough now I am staying five days of the week in Colombo I lock It come during the weekends and I only allow my mom to clean it other than me.my room is my life and one day I like to leave my memories in my room as a museaum when I depart from my life in this world.
