Voluntary organizations have a distinct and responsible role to play, in the community for the welfare of the down trodden. Their basic and priority objective is, health and family welfare. They work with missionary zeal, but also face various types of difficulties. In seventeen Chapters and eight appendices, this book broadly covers their activities, importance, manpower, health and management, infrastructure resources, financing of activities, cooperation and collaboration, innovations, tribal and mental health care, accountability and disaster management. Innovation in Voluntarism means, some new approach or direction or improvement in quality or quantity of the operations. As per two Chapters, most of these Innovations in Voluntarism are related, to the activities, constraints and generation of funds. Savings and credits, is an important field. Women’s savings groups are more active. These funds are used for giving loans to the needy persons.
