What''s your impression of Ganges River of India?
Indian respect and even worship Sun,Air,Fire,Water,Vegetation,all living being,non living like Stones ---strange it is. But interesting enough that they have faith ,since all these are sources of energy.Inspiration from living and non living is an accepted way of life.
Ganges River of India is like any mother which nurtures,nourishes,feeds and carries creatures live or dead, at times assumes as an angry,cruel like any other source of Energy.Men around worship or do not even respect-continue to do so as they feel comfortable.But far sure-Most spiritual individuals,or others who have had realisation of calm within, relish being at the Banks of Ganges again and again.The places- where most ,some saints have attained salvation,peace,spirit of sacrifice bring pleasant feelings and sensation which may be experienced in the lap of mother, mother nature.In view of such experiences, it is really immaterial, how people behave. In a populous country like India,where different ways of living can be seen, poverty,unhygenic living conditions prevail-priorities are different for different faiths,communities.It is unfortunate that no organised effort has been made to preserve sanctity of Holy Rivers and Places of Worship.Instead politically motivated Government Bodies have done very little to keep these all -as clean.However there is a growing realisation to maintain the heritage of Purity and cleanliness of Ganges.
