GLARE ,I want to say Ray-Ban not "Who is that behind those Foster-Grant's ?" more likely
reserved for summertime compliment. The high thin air front brought on by Arctic stream
swinging low over the plain of the Western hemisphere the Northern portion,a vast pie wedge
of a front if you can imagine the prayers of the men of the time in the United States going
out for more pie not just a bigger piece and yet to each man his own to dispose of as see fit as
though to practice one's belief as such. And no folly as the brightness of the day though the shortness
of it is upon us transcends the night in this appeal. It never occured to me in youth though in that time
my purposive I had rose-colored Caravan glasses that these such as they were designed for high
altitude might require a "welder's" tint or what I found out later were mountaineer's
lenses even as the Corona of a Solar Eclipse must be viewed through a piece of photographic film
and then only daringly for a few moments.
These aviator's would find there appeal again as I grew into a stage when military and adventure wear mail
order outfitter's gear had it's appeal including paraprofessional as well as outdoor alternatives.
And reflecting indeed on a period in my eduction where I had toiled to take account of that which
was required these were a type of glasses those with favorable vision wore when delighting
in the downhill slopes many sought as a refuge from the agonies when the accompanying cold of these
times made city and rural life "tough".Another morsel now portends,if and should the likes
of Jim Mckay and Bob Beatty who travelled for such Wide World Of Sports before there was
such an all encompassing Super Bowl by which none would, should or could compare these foyers
opened on the mountain outbacks may be found in the same repose as the highway lanes
but a nugget of aspiration lies waitng for those who would take to these places in their imaginings
in shorts and tank tops, boots, skis, poles and yes, glasses with hair flowing
in the gusts and very own breezes cutting a trail in the last of winter's hold
at spring break such is the forward looking of the nation though it may be in the depths of
a Kodiak bear's hibernation in it's den.
