Plethora of piercing
Whether with reasons or without reasons, body-piercing act had its run since the ancient times. In modern day, this act has not only remained intact among the tribal and other communities, who had reasons, such as religious and spiritual, to do the same, but this act has spread into the educated people for fun, sexual pleasure, and aesthetic value.
Most commonplaces of piercing were ear and nose for putting ornaments to beautify the look. Today, there is no place left on the body where piercing is not done.
Elaine Davidson of Scotland holds the Guinness World Record for most permanent piercing on the body in the women category. She achieved this record in the year 2000 with 462 piercing of which 192 were around her head and face. The record has continued in her name even today, while the number was increased to 720 in 2001.
In the men category, Luis Antonio Aguero holds the record with 230 permanent piercing including 175 on the face alone.
