Gronx Stargazer blinked again and tried to find his co-ordinates in time and space, a pastime he often reverted to as he
also often felt out of place.
This time his studies of historical mythologies through the known ( and unknown ) cultures of human being had taken him to the brink of ALL that he had experienced in this life or the myriad of previous ones in The Present Project.
He tended to suppress the notions that would recently start to creep all over his consciousness. This would happen by concentrating on the fact that he had only recently arrived into the Garden of Eden, no longer than seven cultural cycles before. Maybe it was because these lucky bastards, having crept to the top of the present curriculum got all the fun jobs of politically influencing the behaviour of their human kind and thus felt aversely about spilling the script.
Their job was, after all mostly to slow down the process of human history unwinding to fulfil what has been written much earlier, in the times of this present creation being started.
Gronx chuckled as he remembered all the different images humankind had imagined to illustrate the being of change makers. Being still in the ranks of creator-fellows, he didn’t mind thinking of himself clad in silvery and silken armour with massive shining wings protruding from his shoulder blades. The System had to be kept functional so there were different corps for the endless needs that Present One always had when It was on the rampage, creating New Blessings to get the approving attention of Mother.
New Blessings was the term used to generalise a creation of yet another perfect Being, with yet unheard of qualities.
This brought Gronx back with a jolt. Yes, he was on a mission. Not to idle around! What had momentarily perplexed him was that he had so far thought of himself as a mere Evangelical Inspector. This had taken him lifetimes to reach. Yet only two minutes ago he had received a one way, no-questions message from Mother herself, The Mother herself! In it his credentials had been totally renewed to those of an Executive Officer! But that was supposed to have taken him at least five cultural cycles longer! Something had to be a-brew! So it finally seemed that the Story of at least three human cultures was materialising!
Executive Officer, him! Here the fun starts, Gronx rubbed his hands together. He would have to look up in the manual to acquaint himself with the rights and duties of such rank. He knew he was in for a good time as he had befriended one or two during his different life cycles. He tended, however to reminisce much more on the meetings with the feminine cycles of the officers. Such anarchists would have made Bader-Meinhof seem infantile!
What he had to do now was to get the attention of at least one nation or good scraps of international attention. Executive Officers were lucky enough to receive the Carte Blanche, as long as local law was withheld, for their operations.
My Goodness! It looks like not too many cycles until I reach the political ranks, Gronx thought, and could at last personally understand the worry of so many leading politicians in the World. If the Scriptures materialise too soon he might end up not making it to Tyrant! The Mission was rather sick of hearing the stories of gloating Earth Tyrants. Gronx was sure it was so only because not many had experienced alike and were merely jealous. There could only be a number of Tyrants, and these were only used in emergencies to give the Script a little more time to unfold. Their efficiency in liquidating innumerable life-cycles allowed The Present One to work at the Image It had set out to reach at the start of the Present Project. If only It had not uttered: "Multiply and fill the Earth!".
How many times had the Earth had to be flushed with oh, so intricate
liquidating factors! Yet Gronx knew that all the slowing down had not been in vain. Like a multi-dimensional film director, had The Present One diligently worked, usually delegating, and sometimes even Personally interfering with and smoothing all the bumps in The Plan.
