In his research paper,
“Misunderstandings,” Anthony W. Antolic shows us how over
time the meaning of a
word can change, and with the meaning of that word
so can the scriptures. He uses a modern vernacular to illustrate how
the
common misinterpretations of the scriptures happen as a cultures
vocabulary changes. It is Antolic's
hope to use this
information to
show how and why the Protestant Reformation could have started. This
is only a small part of his Doctoral thesis, and I look forward to
reading more.
