Hyper-Reality as the Collective Illusion ©

Article Summary   by:Anonymous     Original Author: Isabel Metello
ª

The collective disenchantment regarding conceptual ideologies, the concomitant and growing weakness of the primary and secondary socializing sources, the enthronement of media as collective memory modellers led west societies towards a generalized narcissistic hyper‑individualism, an americanized objectified enchantment, an invasion of the social oniric dimension by the strongly estheticized and merchandized ‘integral reality’, consubstiating the muthos (the illusion), as doxa, to the reification. In fact, nowadays, the American pop culture´s globalized reificated urban myths, disseminated uninterruptly by medias´s omnipresence, based upon the valorization of common sense and of a banalized hyper‑reality, are operating a process of sociocultural naturalization by the spectacularized exposure of the concrete aspects of the existence of man. A collective return towards a primitive audiotouchable and audiovisual state, based upon the stimulation of the most basic human instincts by a matriarchal society is leading us to a minimum degree of collective sense, an omnipotent reduction of the social language.
