As I was reading this
article it made me think, that I have been in the same situation as probably alot of you have and by
that I mean letting someone stay with me and my family. After I finished reading this
article, I realized that "People take people for granted while staying as a
houseguest in their home and it is very common. Some of the things that were taken advantage of the people who consented to graciously invite a friend to stay in their home were. 1. Coming in late at 4:00 in the morning, intoxicated waking up their hosts and baby. Teasing one of the hosts about his bedhead while going through his fridge. 2. The houseguest asked hosts if they wanted he or she to change the bed covers, take out the garbage. etc. the host is too gracious to say "please do" so they didn't insist on the guest doing any work but really they did want these things done 3. Bringing back Starbucks just for themself. 4. When the hosts cooked salmon for dinner, the guest complained about too many bones in the salmon. But this houseguest wised up. These were lessons that were learned. They ask about nighttime schedules. They bring Starbucks back for everyone They cook a surprise meal for everyone They do the jobs needed without asking the host or hosts They send a thank you card
