Have we been choosing political leaders who are capable of moral behavior than their less educated
followers? It is a question that very well affects the economic status of every citizen in a country. Economic leaders must agree on means to combat inflation, depression, or recession. They must work diligently as possible to reduce poverty and its attendant problems for hard work are significantly needed to improve the social quality of life in our communities. They need to enact measures to save sagging economy, strengthen good governance, and retrain people to ways that are desirable so that they could compete globally. However, an
individual must also do his part to achieve what he wants to achieve. Instilling the habits of industry and thrift and preparing the individual to contribute to the economic development of the nation’s natural resources could be of great help; thus he must make the best use of what he already know and shall continue to learn. The mere stockpiling of
knowledge, the mere learning of many facts, the compiling of statistics, the accumulating of awesome amounts of information do not necessarily spell “the educated person”.
Economics continues to have an enormous influence over the shape of our society. Economics and the economists play an extremely important part in the formulation of public policy. Both of them play a key role at the highest levels of our government. It is indisputable that the educative experience has a definite goal to prepare, equip, and motivate individuals to influence the shaping of the society of which each is a part. As an expert had stated, “all our knowledge brings us nearer to our ignorance.” The product of education is called upon to apply his knowledge beyond himself for creative constructive purposes. Undoubtedly, physical existence of an individual depends on economics, so we cannot isolate ourselves from economics. Economics enters into nearly every activity that we engage in. Almost all human activities involve economics such as: earning money, saving money in the bank, buying goods and services, putting up a business, producing goods, marketing goods, utilizing goods and services, tax collection and government spending. Good knowledge of economics offers favorable possibilities. It guides us how to make a living, how to use our money wisely, how to run our business, how to distribute properly our scarce (limited) resources, how to maximize our profits, how to satisfy consumer’s wants and much more how to uplift our standard of living
