How China is doing "make up" to Africa?

Article Summary by: Reksi

When someone will mention the word Africa, for sure you
will imagine the always starving continent. But, this picture isn’t in the minds of people how are running the biggest economies in the world. They have the picture of Africa as a “kind of fancy bread” which is full with natural wealth, especially oil and natural gas. And, they are competing for bigger peace of this “kind of fancy bread”.               Africa has been exploited by USA, Great Britain est. for decades. But, in nowadays on the scene it’s showing up one very fast growing economy, which is planning to “feed its hunger”, for bigger growth, with enormous peace of our “kind of fancy bread” named Africa. Can you guess? We are talking about China.                In nowadays, China has identified the African continent as an area of significant economic and strategic interest. Why? Well, China is the second world’s the biggest customer of oil, after USA. It is expected the need of oil to grow up for 10% every year. So, having in mind that the Asian oil and natural gas aren’t enough to fulfill these growing needs, we have the answer to our question.                 Being aware of the fact that Africa already has exploiters, Beijing has found a new ways of getting close with Africans. So, Chinese are using the fact that China never had the colonies in Africa. Also, China stays on the decision to not interfere in the intern relations in the countries. As a reason of this Africans see Chinese as friendly people. And, here is where the “make up” starts. Africa receives from friendly China food, weapon, new infrastructure, direct investments, help in treating illnesses like malaria and HIV/AIDS. But, all of this is not gratis. In return Beijing expects bigger access to natural wealth. Here you have an example: China gave to Angola a $2 billion credit in 2004 and in return expects 10,000 barrels crude oil per day.               Now we can see that till Africans think that they are getting a lot from China, China gets much more. And, till they believe in friendship, China will make them working for its economic boom.
