PPO -The new Flavour of the Season.
KPO and BPO are passé. So, here comes the new
outsourcing debate of the
Season called PPO. The latest buzz is PPO or Person-to-person outsourcing is being considered to occupy a considerable chunk of media. Nope it is not the biggies or the giant
players of the dynamic souk this time. It’s about
small players like you and me.
The Evalueserve Inc. chairman Alok Aggarwal shaped up this new abbreviation. In his own words, “Offshoring is now beginning to go mainstream and is touching the upper class and working class alike.”
In fact the most of the business today is being done through this PPO. Small offices, business establishments, individuals are flourishing and they are making maximum of it. One can work sitting in their pyjamas with a broadband connection. As, the operating cost of these vendors and freelancers is near to the ground. Services could range from designing and drafting, tutoring, writing, everything is being outsourced.
It would be incorrect to mark PPO bazaar as diminutive and inconsequential.
The market alone in the US simply surpasses the whooping
$20 billion mark. Consumers are endless and small entrepreneurs are enormous.
The statistics given by Evalueserve was astonishing; analysis of April2006 and March 2007 revealed that over
$250 million revenue could be derived solely from this section. An unparalleled
growth of unprecedented magnitude is being witnessed and analysis illustrate that by 2015 growth over
$2 billion is anticipated, which is the collective annual growth rate of 26 percent.
In this sector the trade and transaction takes place in two different modes.
One is the direct dealings and the other is the indirect one or through online conscription. These worldwide webs not only offer jobs to the professionals and vendors but also cater to the needs of various employers, entrepreneur or individuals too. The eminent ones are fundamentally from the US, which offers a major marketplace. Elance.com, Gofreelance.com, rentacoder.com, Guru.com…………… the list goes on and on. Undeniably the world is shrinking. It’s now a lot easy to find a vendor for a job through these websites without any hassle, as they offer speed and flexibility to accomplish what one wants in the stipulated deadline that one wants.
Projects ranges from website development, graphic design and art, software and technology, writing and translations, sales and marketing, management and finance, administrative, engineering, training, legal …………you name one and the long list of professionals with their profile of expertise pops up at the mere click of hands. With the targeted low wage countries, speculations are rife that PPO is here to stay and burgeon.
