Trouble in the Classroom

Article Summary by: Anonymous

Original Author: Sam L. Carr
Two out of every 100 children suffer from a Learning Disability (LD). Since
early diagnosis is very important for effective
treatment a child
suspected to have LD must be professionally evaluated at the earliest.Sometimes a sensitive parent or perhaps a nursery school teacher will
identify the more seriously affected child early. Often though, a child might bundle along and barely get by, yet being
functional enough for some time — and then one day it all becomes too
much. Unfortunately, undetected Learning Disorders lead to children
being labeled as ‘lazy’, ‘stupid’ or just plain ‘troublesome’. A good LD therapy center must have an Occupational Therapist, a Special
Educator and a Child Psychologist or Sociologist all of whom will be well
versed in both evaluation and therapy. Most importantly, the center
should be able to give each child a lot of individual attention.
