‘Diamonds are a girl’s best friend’. If you are one amongst those who consider it true, rise above that glitter-dominated
world, and you will also realize my friend that the truth lies here..’Books are your best friend’. Ok, tell me who would you rise up to when you are feeling low.. your 2 carat ring or a Sidney Sheldon series..? Does that white rock in your ear give you that warmth what an M&B series (Mills & Boons, for the unawares) would do? Reading isn’t always directed to reading a novel though. Grasp a book as your age would permit to or as the need be. Students don’t necessarily need be bookworms and keep themselves engrossed in their syllabi. Look over your pile bacha log and hit the libraries. Get hold of a Competition Success Review, or an RD (Reader’s Digest..for the …!!). and what would serve your purpose the best had you in your hands a daily local. I’d heard long time back.. ‘ I find television very educating, whenever someone turns it on, I go to the other room and start reading a newspaper.’ So my young friends, change your taste and get yourself a date with Harry Potter. You would be as surprised to know this, as I was when I first heard that reading can not only improve your mental development but even improves the blood flow in your veiny system. Another important fact states that if you go through reading pages of your interest for 15 min, it enhances your concentration power which you’d have had with 30 min of yoga. The knowledge you gain in those 15 min don’t need a mention though. Choice is yours..!! For the starters I would recommend their parents to get them first used to start reading with them from their English books. Read aloud to them. Take turns in reading every next sentence and enjoy the fun. Slowly get their hands on to a Nancy Drew or a Harry Potter. And then slowly raise their levels and interest to higher standards thereby increasing their speed. But mind you, always take note of the posture you and your baby are.. Enjoy reading and enjoy your new hobby..
