Yardsticks is a comprehensive book that discusses the developmental growth of children from ages 4-14.  The book starts
out with Age 4 working its way up to Age 14.  It is a guide for parents, child care givers, and teachers for the developmental changes occuring within the child at each age and stage of development.
The book is very easy to read.  It gives several pictures of children at the various ages.  It describes the types of food children like at various ages, the transitions they are going through, an appropriate curriculum for each age, and examples of artwork from children at the age being discussed. 
The book is small and could easily be transported to work or classroom.  It has been a required reading in some Child Development Courses in colleges and universities.
