What is
creativity?
Arthur Koestler, writer and great thinker describes
creative thinking as "double-minded
thinking that operates on more than one plane". It could be
described as a "transitory state". We can say that the
key elements of creative thinking are the presence of two things, two ways of
thinking and the transition between them. The unstable, disturbed nature of the
creatively functioning mind should be noted.
Since a creative activity necessarily brings about instability, it is
more unpredictable than other activities. This is why a relaxed setting
is essential for the flourishing of creative works. Some of the elements of the
creative process are transforming, transition, shift or change between two
things. In order to achieve a good environment and a good result for creative
outcomes,
imagination is one of the key parts. Transforming a
living entity into an
object, and an object into something living, giving
examples and exploring as much as we can the imagination that every person has.
Another way to
bring out the creative mind in each of us is to shift points of
view, try to
imagine and put ourselves in another person''''s position, assessing
all of the possible advantages and disadvantages of a certain situation, and
never act before we are in possession of all the facts.
Creativity should be explored and encouraged, since the person''''s mind and
capacity of judgment will increase, and so will their perception of the world
around them. It is, thus, utterly recommendable for adults also.
