Pranamya Shrisha devam Gauri putra vinayam,
Bakta vasam samare nityam sarva kamartha siddhaye
Prathamam vakratundam
cha Ekdantam dwityakam
Triyatham krisha pindga askam Gajavakram chaturkam
Lamaboradaram pancham cha Shastam vikat mev cha
Saptam vigna rajam cha dhumrva varnam tatha asthakam
Navam bhal chandram cha Dasham tu vinayam
Ekadasham ganapatim dwadhasham tu gajananam
Dwadahash shaitani nami trisandhayam yeh pateth nar
Na cha vigna bahayam tasya sarvam Siddhi karam prabhum
Vidayarthi labte vidyam putrarthi
labhte putram
Dhanarthi labhte dahanrt Moksharthi labhte gatim
Japed Ganapati strotam shad bhi mase phalam labhet
Sanvat sarain Siddhi cha labhte natra sanashaya.
Ashto bhya bramanam bhya cha liktva tu samarpayet

This
hymn to
Lord Ganesha takes his twelve names:
Vakratundam (curved tusk), One tooth, black eyes, elephant ears,
One with big belly, mysterious, obstacle remover, black colored, moon on forehead, kind natured, Lord Of celestial beings, elephant faced.
It is said students and
scholars should pray to this kind hearted Lord of knowledge and wisdom before commencing studies. If you offer this hymn to eight learned scholars, you shall have immense knowledge.
Eight is
sacred number for Lord Ganesha.He is worshipped as lord of eight directions.
Benefits: Students, scholars and depressed can get immense benefits if they read it with devotion. Lord Ganesha ji is remover of obstacles but he dislikes arrogance.
