INTRODUCTION TO EDUCATION


Definition and Goal of Education

Definition can be viewed from some aspects, that is: education as culture transformation process, that education means culture inheriting activities from one generation to next generation. Other aspects include education as personal building process, education as citizen preparing process, and education as manpower preparing. While goal of education is loading illustration about good, glorious, proper, correct, and beautiful value for life.

Foundation and Principles of Education

Education base includes: philosophical, sociological, cultural, psychological, scientific, and technologies foundation. Main principles of education includes: Tut Wuri Handayani Principles, Learning for along life principles, and stand alone principles for learning.

Forecasting and Anticipation for Future

The future society’s forecasting can be seen on characteristics as follow: globalization tendency is stronger, quicker science and technology, more solid and quicker information flow development, need/demand for professional service in life diversities of human. Education effort in anticipating future includes value and attitude change, culture development, and education media development.

Definition and Function of Education Environment

A place where education is going on called education environment, especially in three education environment main, that is family, school, and society. Family, school, and society as education environment is known as education center three.

Generally, education environment function is helping student in interacting with some surroundings (Physical, social, and culture), especially some education resources are available, so that can reach optimal education goal.

Education Ideologies

Education ideologies includes: classical ideology and new movement in education, including empirism, nativism, naturalism, convergence, new movement ideology. Two main ideologies of Indonesia education is Perguruan Kebangsaan Taman Siswa and Ruang pendidik INS (Indonesia Nederlandsche School) Kayu Tanam.

Education Problem

Kinds of main education problem include education distribution problem, education quality problem, education efficiency problem, and education relevance problem.

National Education System (SISDIKNAS)

Sistem Pendidikan Nasional (SISDIKNAS) is a cohesive union of all units and activities of education that relate one to others to achieve national education goal. Indonesia SISDIKNAS is arranged based on Indonesian nation culture and based on Pancasila and UUD 1945 as life values crystallization of Indonesian nation. While the goal of national education is stated in UU RI No. 2 Tahun 1989 Pasal 3.

Education and Building

Education is getting central position in building because its objective is increasing human resource quality. Said also that education heads for human internal, while building heads for external, that is to surrounding human.

If people have building soul as education result, so it’s hoped their environment will be built well. Specifically, education contribution for building is building for completing education system its self.
