Current perspectives of education
The last decades of the twentieth century witnessed many changes to education, but nothing compares changes as drastic as in the past five years. Gadotti said in 2000 that the development of a country depends on the quality of their education and the questions are: What education, what school, which teacher fits in today''s world? The confusion and crisis of paradigms can not be an alibi for some kind of educational inertia. Witnessing the collapse of socialism and identified the lack of industrial growth over the danger of mankind, and in life, rather than solidarity, we have seen growing competitiveness. To Gadotti, education needed to adapt to new perspectives. This term is expressed by the concept of chance from a more general point of view. Today, educators bewildered by rapid changes, wonder about the future of the profession, there is much talk about scenarios and panoramas, words indicating a hike on the horizon, designated as the expectations and desires.Talking about the current prospects for education is to think, discuss and identify the present we live in, whereas some theoretical perspectives that guided many practices could disappear and another will remain in its essence. Gadotti also warns us about the "traditional education", based education of slave society and "new school" that emerges from Rousseau in 1899, where it is established that these two conflicting models have their place in tomorrow''s education, and the two have in common the concept of education as a process of individual development. Politicians and educators of the past half century, thought of internationalized education, an idea that emerged from 1899 and from the middle of the twentieth century the process was entrusted to the supervision of UNESCO, causing the phenomenon of globalization promote new impetus to the concept of "equal education for all", which results in a general uniformity in basic format educational world. The brand-new technologies focusing on the current formats of global communication and information transmission instant generate a questioning and a completion on educators who hold "a profound change in teaching methods" in order to book the brain the "ability to think rather than memorize "teaching to think critically becoming essential to learn new methodologies for using them together with the holonomic paradigm, much in vogue today because of the line of thought toward the initiative and personal creativity. Popular education, based on concepts of Paulo Freire, is on the formation and democratic basis, reflecting notions of solidarity and democracy in popular education community, this focus is framing the Third Sector, NGO, CBO is, s, in the fertile field nowadays, even with much use of current communication technologies.
Whatever the view that current education aims to educate the future will always be rebellious and surpassing the limits imposed by state and market. Our lives was an information revolution, equivalent to the agricultural revolution and industrial revolution. Ladislaus Dowbor (1998) describes the anguish of a poorly paid professor of interior said that not being able to keep up with technological developments due to a series of personal problems and Dowbor itself suggests the idea that "the teacher must do everything to overcome the conditions delay in what has and can create conditions to enjoy tomorrow.New technologies have created new spaces of knowledge, everything is a click, so what is the school in the information society, is to overcome the utilitarian view offering useful information for the competitiveness and teach students to love the pursuit of knowledge and learning. In general teachers devalue what they do in school and the overall situation worldwide, pressing the school to change the logic of the traditional construction of knowledge as we and our fathers learned. One can not imagine a future without thinkers or philosophers, 60 university occupations against traditional 11,000 new types of services does everyone think, state, company, municipality, parents, no one can ignore what happens today. Gadotti suggests some pillars to be taken as a compass to guide us into the future education of the future that they are: Learning to know, learning to do, learning to live together, learning to be, citizenship, planetariedade, sustainability, virtuality, globalization, trans, dialogical and dialectical. We can mention the term "sustainability" as a modern example of what we need to relearn. Word originated in the economy, where sustainable development, sustainable education summarizes the survival of the planet and corporate profits.Similar to Gadotti, Edgar Morin, in his essay depicting the school''s teaching acts, l he summarizes in "The Seven Lessons in Education for the Future", the following points: 1 - The blindness of knowledge: the error and illusion, 2 - relevant principles of knowledge, 3 - Teaching the human condition, 4 - Teaching human identity, 5 - Dealing with uncertainties, 6 - Teaching comprehension, 7 - The ethics of mankind.
