Punishment in School

Book Summary   by:Daniel Footman     Original Author: Daniel Footman
ª

When I started school there were punishment rules to be followed. Iremember trying not to get in trouble, because you had to report to theprincipals office and if the crime was bad enough you got a paddling. Now, schools are not as strick on their punishments and it seems a lotof children are going wild. Is there any way we can find a middleground for punishing bad children. With all the school shootings andbasic disrespect for authority figures, what are we to do? As ascociety that will depend on these children when we are older what arewe to expect if we don't do something now. I have seen children get in trouble and thrown off buses for passingnotes and such, are we taking somethings too far and letting othersslack? Our teachers are at a loss, because any type of disciplinebrings about conflict on them. Parents are at a loss, because childrenseem to be getting an upper hand (If you spank me I'll tell someone.).I understand there are people that hurt/beat their children and need tobe punished for their crimes. I also believe that an unruly child coulduse a spanking on the butt.
